How do buyers and sellers communicate?
Help I'm Poor uses a double-blind email system. Sellers get their very own email from us (for instance, Alex@helpimpoor.com), and the buyers can email this address from whichever email provider they use.
Help I'm Poor then cloaks both email addresses; this means that, even as the buyer and seller are emailing from their own personal emails, they will both see the other as having a "@helpimpoor.com" email address. This ensures user privacy and anonymity while still allowing users to have the convenience of using their own personal emails.
For example:
If Bob (bob@example.com) sells books on our site, he will also have the email "bob@helpimpoor.com."
Susie, then, having seen a book she is interested in from Bob, will see "bob@helpimpoor.com" and email that from her personal email account (say, "Susie@example.com"). Our site will then forward that message to Bob's personal email.
When Bob receives her message (at bob@example.com), however, he will see it from another HIP address - for instance, "a8sd7d6s5s6@helpimpoor.com" (randomly generated). While they receive and send mail from their own personal addresses, they will only see the cloaked (@helpimpoor.com) address of the other person.
